How to get to Las Tortugas
The nearest airport is Almería (an hour away) but flights to Almería are rather limited, particularly out of season and most people find that Alicante (two hours) has a much better choice and is often cheaper. Murcia is also an option, about an hour and a half away.
Car hire became rather expensive in 2009 supposedly as companies cut back on their fleet in anticipation of a bad summer, but we have found this company to be consistently reliable in finding a good deal and in customer service terms. They are a Hampshire-based family run agency and really do offer excellent value and are very helpful.
The journey is simple from any of these airports as the house is just a five minute or so drive from junction 529 on the E15 motorway.
